Passive safety innovation for mutual survival

Honda starts with an advanced monocoque body structure designed for outstanding all-direction shielding in a collision, with multiple load-pass frame that effectively disperse and absorb collision impact from the all directions. G-Force Control technology crumples the car body in a controlled manner and helps ensures lower impact on occupants within a sturdy survival zone. In case of the unfortunate occurrence of an accident, the Accord's self-protective performance extends to other vehicles regardless of size. Equipped with a shock-absorbing structure in the frontal section of its body, including the hood, wiper pivots, and windshield base, the new Accord successfully reduces collision damage to its own structure as well as pedestrian injury. Furthermore, the vehicle incorporates dual SRS airbags, front side airbags, and new-generation side curtain airbags. Front 3-point ELR seatbelts with conventional load limiter and pretensioner functions are enhanced with a lap pretensioner function for further protection, and an Active Head Restraint System supports prevention of neck injuries in case of a collision from the rear. This comprehensive approach to passive protection for mutual survival reflects Honda's fundamental emphasis on the shared well-being of all motorists.
